Since the 14th century quality bog iron ore was had been mined here. In 1566, the first metallurgical furnaces was launched in Eisenterattene. Based on the privileges given by emperor Ferdinand Ist., iron could be distributed to Istria , Venice and other cities. In the beginning of the 19 th Century the furnance was leveled up and the production notably increased. Ferum mines and steelworks finally passed to the  count of Lodron hands, who decided to modernize and had eded another furnance in 1860.

During winter you find at Innerkrems an astonishing winter landscape, in sommer the mountain landscape is very suitable for hiking. The protected national park around the valley in which Innerkrems and the ski hire Innerkrems is located you must see.

The small town Innerkrems has a very beautiful church named after St. Andreas. Additionally, for sightseeing you can roadtrip to the famous alpine ski training centre located in Innerkrems and the nice trekking tour of Nockalmstraße.
